Sony HD camcorder

http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1040_22-6041732.html

High definitions cameras are something that I have never even heard of and now it turns out that Sony is releasing a new one. Also while $1,800 seems pricy in general for a camera, it is a pretty good deal and they have found a way to not only make it smaller and lighter but reduce the cost of the previous camera. Having seen various broadcasts of HDTV, while it may not be totally necessary to have, it really does have an amazing picture. It is basically like watching a good, high quality, picture that someone took. Sony is not the only one it seems that has gotten into the market. Panasonic always seems to e up there with the most advanced forms of technology. They are good at not only making camcorders, and other advanced electronics smaller and cheaper, but they are able to get a very good quality product as well that is trusted my most consumers. Sony’s problem seems to be that they are still using tapes in a world where everything is becoming digital. The problem with takes is that they don’t store that much memory and you have to replace them if you do not wish to record over. The nice thing about having a hard drive built in or a flash card is that you can make the unit smaller since the extra tape space is not needed. One advantage to having some form of tape, though it may get pricy, if you do not wish to convert all of your video over to another form, you can have a nice collection of tapes.

Nintendo seems to have been loosing popularity to some of the over video game companies. I do not think that adding a wireless connection to the internet is the right approach to obtaining more product sales. It seems that the age of users for the Nintendo DS is young so adding television and internet is not necessarily the right thing to do. While I feel that Nintendo is still on the falling, the article states otherwise and claims that their sales have been up. It is possible that things are getting better for Nintendo but I still don’t think that the expansion is going to be a good marketing choice. The big portable system that is out there is the PSP by Sony. And that already has internet and movie capability with better graphics and a wide version of games. I think that Nintendo’s best bet at the moment would be to sell out to another company giving someone like Sony the rights to some of their popular games. Nintendo has been around for a lot longer in the gaming business than Sony, but they were not able to properly market their products. Enabling their product to surf the web still makes them a step behind the competition. I cannot see Nintendo coming back in action and taking the leading role in video gaming anytime soon. It seems that it is more popular in Japan but the marketing in the United States is not going as well as they probably hoped for.
