Microsoft attack

Microsoft really amazes me, it manages to be one of the biggest companies in the world while holding 90 percent of the computers but it seems to be the worst. Now it makes sense that Microsoft has viruses because people are more willing to attack when they know it will hurt a lot of people but it still confuses me that they can’t get a better operating system. Apple seems to be gaining a lot of popularity due to their strong security systems. It is also said that the chance of getting a virus on an Apple is virtually impossible and does not look like that is going to change in the future. An interesting point about apple is that there are people out there trying to break through the system because if they are able to make a virus for it, they will be considered famous in the hacking world. It is also true that for Microsoft there are a lot of people out there to get Bill Gates. I think it is interesting how intense some of these hackers can get and how personally they take things when someone is trying to control the world of computers. It is scary to know that someone can enter your computer through another computer or through your web browser and completely take over your system. There are so many smart people out there and it is interesting that some chose to use their education and knowledge of computers to do illegal things instead of make things better. I am not saying this is a bad thing, not that I really agree with it, but they are people who believe that the internet is not fair and should not be run by powerful people and the government like most people are.

PS2

PS2

Being someone who used to be into videogames but has lost touch with them in the past few years, I understand the strong competition of the market. Sony’s PlayStation 2 and Microsoft’s Xbox, have taken the roles as the strongest systems in gaming today. Xbox recently came out with their next generation of gaming system, while PS2 is holding back until the next year to come. Xbox felt the need to get a jump start on the market by releasing a new product which was faster, better graphics, and overall a better system with newer capabilities. PS2, while they may seem to be behind in the gaming market, is awaiting their highly anticipated PS3 to come out late this year, which is expected to blow consumers away. Because of the drop in sales of PS2, it is clear as to why they would cut their prices down. And it is also obvious that if Sony’s demand has been going down and they are forced to cut prices, that Microsoft will also be cutting prices of their previously sold system, which is said that they no longer buy. Nintendo is the other competitor in the market, but due to their lack of recent success, they have taken a new spin on things and decided to use a new approach to gaming which they thought not only had potential but was unique to the already diverse market. Sony has great potential in the market to up their sales by lowering their prices, which could in tern keep fans loyal for the await of their new system, and also bring new buyers in for the future

Flash media

Flash Media

Personally the idea of cell phones having more graphics and things on them is pointless to me. I think it is great for Adobe because they are going to have a huge potential jump in profits but how much more do we really need on our phones. It is one thing to increase capabilities in terms of calling and texting and planning but just adding flash media seems really farfetched. What it does show is the strengths of Verizon as one of the leading cell phone carriers in the world. Verizon has really jumped the market over the years even with big competitors such as AT&T and Cingular merging. If you look at it from the standpoint of Adobe, it is a great move. They are going to not only make a lot more money on this deal but if flash media on phones does catch on, they have a great chance to really expand their market. They have already bought out some key companies that they have been working with to take over that market. I think one thing that has to be put into consideration is that phones that are getting this new flash media are going to have to be more powerful. Also as it is on the web, depending on your speed of the connection, flash media can be really slow and make things not work properly. Verizon has to make sure their capabilities can handle things like this so there are no complaints and problems.
